Moses Otimong the Fort Portal City Clerk was yesterday arrested for alleged abuse of office.

Mr. Otimong was arrested on the orders of the Deputy Inspector General of Government Anne Twinomugisha Muhairwe shortly after a public hearing that was organized by the office of the IGG.

According to Ms Ali Munira, the spokesperson of the Inspectorate of Government, during the public hearing, they received several complaints about Otimong, including corruption, mismanagement of public funds, and misuse of office.

According to Munira, Mr. Otimong had been invited to be part of the hearing but did not attend, claiming to have traveled to Kampala to meet the Permanent Secretaries of the Ministries of Local Government and Defense but later established that he wasn’t expected there.

Ms. Munira says that the IGG will commence investigations into the allegations against Otimong who was briefly detained in the office of the IGG in Bukwali before being handed over and detained at Fort Portal Police Station. Ms. Munira speaking…….

She said the investigations would verify each of the allegations for justice. END
