Mr. Peter Ebwat, the Manager National Water and Sewerage Corporation Kasese Branch has revealed that they are proposing to construct another water treatment plant that will be connected from Kazinga Channel in Lake Katwe Sub-county to serve the people living in the areas of Kikorongo among others.
He also announced plans to increase the amount of water consumed by the ever increasing population of Kasese district since they are working hard to tap River Kyanzutsu, so that it’s connected to the main water treatment plant that gets its water from river Ngangyi.
Addressing the press yesterday in Kasese town, Mr.Ebwat said, currently the NWSC supplies 3.4 million liters of water to the population in Kasese Municipality on a daily basis.
He was opprtumistic that once the project is completed, it will help in increasing the number of liters of water supplied daily from 3.4 million to 7 million liters.
He said they have been undertaking the project to stabilize water for the last eight months, so that the people can easily access water.
