The school term has come to an end and children are expected back home to enjoy the much awaited holiday, but with their presence at home, there is need for parents and guardians not to forget their duties.
Some parents relegate the duty of bringing up their children to house –helps and television, but Ms. Eunice Sunday Mutooro, the headmistress at st.peters Nyakasanga Primary school urged parents to be actively involved in their children upbringing.
In her address during a Parents and Teachers Association-PTA meeting yesterday, Ms. Eunice strongly condemned the vice among parents and school proprietors of allowing primary six pupils sit PLE exams, saying the practice affects the education system.
She advised parents to guide their children to complete daily assigned duties, including doing homework and other domestic work at home during this first term holidays. Ms. Eunice speaking…..
A section of parents acknowledged the low performance to poor parenting especially by involving children in housework after school, therefore, requesting the school administrators to put to task parents whose children are in Primary six and seven to join school hostels.
