Several travelers were left stranded in Fort Portal after transporters doubled transport fares following the resumption of public transport.
Buses and taxis resumed under conditioned operations yesterday, 42 days after President Yoweri Museveni suspended public transport to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The Bundibugyo Park Chairperson Edward Magezi says that the increment to 15000 from Fort portal to Bundibugyo and the similar figure from Fort portal to Kasese was basically to enable transporters compensate for the empty seats and respond to half load as directed by President Museveni.
