A family of eight in Namuhuga South in Bulembia division Kasese municipality is reported homeless over landslides that have repeatedly threatened their lives.
Whereas no official comment yet from National Water and Sewerage Corporation, Mr. Hanington Nyanza, the area local council one chair confirmed to the media the threats to Mr. Simon Masereka family by landslides he alleges had been fueled by the uncovered trench that was reportedly dug about eight months ago by the water corporation for a new water channel from river Kyatsutsu. Mr. Asanairi Bukanywa, the Kasese municipal agricultural officer who toured the area, blamed the water corporation for the open trench, adding that his office was to collaborate with the engineering department for an engagement with National Water and Sewerage Corporation for possible compensation.
