A section of venders in Kasese central market –Kasindi have appealed to the municipality authority to ensure proper zoning of markets surrounding the main market.
Speaking to our reporter yesterday in Kasese town, Mr. Isaac Sunday Sabithi and Ms Joyline Muhindo both dealers of shoes stressed that the municipal authority need to establish policies to neighboring markets that hamper them from selling particular products depending on the staffs they are entitled to sell.
According to the duo, municipal authority has failed to enforce access control policies and prevent unauthorized sells in the neighboring markets which they noted as one of the factors causing decrease in sells within the main market. Mr. Sabithi and Ms Muhindo speaking….
The chairperson Kasindi main market, Mr. Wilson Wahimba urged venders to ensure proper disposal of waste materials to ensure proper hygiene in the market. Mr. Wahimba speaking….
The efforts to get a comment from the Kasese municipal senior commercial officer, Mr. Godfrey was futile by press time he wasn’t in office.
Meanwhile, the deputy mayor for Kasese Municipality, Hon. Rabson Mupango has hailed municipal residents for maintaining proper hygiene in the Kasese town.
Mr. Mupango who asked residents to be security cautious also asked those who stay around garbage collection centers to always maintain the cleanliness of the area in order to promote tourism as a source of income which benefits government and the local community.
