A glimpse into the ongoing National Population and Housing Census exercise by Kasese Guide Radio indicates that some members of the public are forced to take part.
Our reporter who said some of the officials seem exhausted, added that whereas the exercise requires accurate data to allow appropriate planning among others by government, some members of the public respond lousily and do not answer correctly some of the questions.
Ms. Edirne Masika an enumerator in Kirembe cell in Kasese Municipality told us of two family heads, woman and man who had refused to be enumerated over unknown reasons until the area town agent, Ms. Prosy Ndagire, intervened. Ms. Edrine speaking……
Meeting Anet Kabugho 38, Ms Ndagire asked her to abide by government programs as she responded in a manner that could have failed Ms Edrine, the enumerator to fulfill her duty earlier before.
Ms. Annet interacting with town agent……….
Mr. Bonex Kule, a popular artist in the Rwenzori region who called for massive support to the census exercise, related government leadership to a family where the head looks into the population before any purchases area done. Mr. Bonex speaking………
He however asked the census exercise official to be accommodative to the local population he called fragile END.
