Today will mark the beginning of lent, as Christians around the world get set to start Forty days of fasting, sacrifice and Prayer.

Lenten season starts with Ash Wedsday and Christians will attend special church prayers, during which they will receive Ash on their foreheads in form of a cross.

The Director Caritas Kasese, Rev.Fr.Anyesio Mbusa, says lent is a time of self-examination, repentance, helping the needy and doing good deeds.

He said lent provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon our patterns, to pray more deeply, experience sorrow for what we have done and failed to do and to be generous to those in need.

Kasese Guide Radio wishes happy Lenten to all believers in Christ. END.
