The over 700 foot pilgrims trekking from Nebbi District were expected to reach Bweyale last evening.
The pilgrims that set off on Wednesday for Namugongo martyrs’ shrine, spent on Thursday the night at Karuma from where they continued with their journey this morning and are expected to spend their night at Bweyale Town.
The spokesperson Organising Committee for Nebbi Catholic dioceses, Fr. Emmanuel Ocokuru said the pilgrims’ journey is so far progressing despite few challenges. Father Ocokuru adds that having walked a long distance on their first day, the pilgrims have resorted to covering shorter distances of 20-30 kilometers a day until they reach Namugongo in Wakiso District for the June 3rd Martyrs Day celebrations that will be animated by Nebbi Catholic Diocese.
