    Striking teachers have been given a go head by local leaders in Kasese

    Several local political leaders including the Kasese Municipal Deputy Mayor, Hon. Rabson Mupango have described as the teachers` strike as genuine but a decision that requires consideration to save the education concerns of the poor community members.

    Speaking to Kasese guide radio this afternoon. Mr. Mupango contents that whereas the teachers plight for the salary balance and increment were genuine, they should consider the concerns of the poor citizens whose school children turned vendors only benefit from government aided schools.     Mr. Peter Masereka, a parent in Kasese Municipality asks foundation bodies of Government Aided schools to negotiate with teachers and government in consideration of the plight of the vulnerable learners especially candidates waiting to do mocks and later national examinations. Godfrey Katusabe said he supports the industrial action by the teachers for salary increment, adding that he had already addressed the same concerns at the floor of Parliament. Hon.
