The Bishop of Fort Portal Diocese, Rt. Rev. Robert K. Muhirwa ordained six deacons to priesthood over the weekend making a total of 13 priests ordained this year, with a call for humbleness, humility and love.
The ordained priests were Rev. Fr. Foustine Kaizire from Kitumbi parish, Rev. Fr. Peter Mwesige from Kyamatanga parish Rev. Fr. Clovis Ruhuma Virika parish, Rev. Fr. Joseph Amanyire, Rev. Fr. Matia Mulumba and Rev. Fr. Walter Murungi (Capuchin missionary) all from Yerya parish.
In his homily while presiding over Ordination Holy Mass at Kyamatanga parish in Virika denary Bunyangabu district, the Bishop of Fort Portal catholic diocese, Rt. Rev. Robert K Muhiirwa was thankful to God for the gift of new priests.
Bishop Muhiirwa asked them to diligently serve the flock of Lord and become prayerful in their new journey.
He asked the newly ordained priests to offer sacraments especially the sacrament of penance with love and mercy, warning them against turning confession rooms’ tough chambers as the Holy Father always urges them.

Bishop Muhiirwa urged parents to be good examples to their children through praying together and making priesthood and religious popular among the young generation, saying the number of priests in the diocese is still inadequate.
Speaking on behalf of parents of the ordained priests, Mr.Peter Mugisa asked the ordained priests to live an exemplary life and serve the flock of God holy heartedly. Mr. Mugisa speaking….
