The Chairperson of the Catholic Episcopal conference Rt. Rev. Joseph Antony Zziwa has this afternoon issued a statement following the outbreak of the deadly Corona Virus in the neighbouring countries.
The guidance accessed by Kasese Guide Radio indicates that the Catholic Bishops of Uganda embraced the guidelines issued by the Government of the republic of Uganda aware of their duty and obligation to safeguard the health of the faithful.
Rt. Rev. Joseph Antony Zziwa who also doubles as Bishop of Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese urged the all persons, the Clergy, and laity to refrain from conducting the Stations of the Cross, Crusades, workshops, of more than ten people.
The man of God dispensed the faithful from the Sunday obligation to participate in the Holy mass during this period but quickly encouraged all the Catholic Radio stations to relay and broadcast Holy Mass on Sundays and week days.

The Bishop through the document suspends all handshakes and hugs during the Holy mass and other liturgical celebrations until the epidemic is over. They proposed Holy Communion to be given in the hands of the faithful.
