The Bishop of South Rwenzori diocese Bishop Rt. Rev. Nason Baluku has issued new guidelines to ensure the safety of Christians during church service and other functions.
The move follows the recent terror attack on a local church in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo-DRC.
On Sunday, a bomb went off in a Pentecostal church in Kasindi town, North Kivu Province killing more than 10 people and wounding scores, according to reports from news agencies in the country.

As a result, Bishop Baluku has directed church leaders to start searching all believers at church entrances, prohibit bags in churches, and asked all wardens, lay readers, and reverends to be familiar with all their flock. Bishop Nason two speaking…..
The Bishop has also asked Christians to comply with the guidelines and asked them to identify all new faces or any person with a strange character.
Baluku has also called upon the government of East African Community states to find solutions for the endless wars in DRC.
He has called for the disarmament of all fighters in the country and asked the DRC government to devise ways of ensuring that illegal arms in the hands of civilians are flashed out through peaceful means. END.
