    Mr. Jolly Kahyana remanded to Kyenjojo Gov’t Prison until July 2nd over his song “Kabudunga”.

    Mr. Jolly Kahyana, the author of said defamatory Kabudunga lhukonzo song was yesterday (23 june 2020) been remanded to Kyenjojo Government Prison until July 2nd when his bail application will be determined.

    Court presided over by the Kasese chief magistrate, His Worship Emmy Geoffey Sayeko said that he decided to adjourn the bail hearing over Mr. Kahyan`s handling of the last police bond despite the factb that the defendant had preented substantial sureries.

    Court heard that on 26th February, 2020 while in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council in Kasese district Mr. Kahyana Jolly Published a song with intentions of injuring before the community the reputation of Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, the Ugandan Ambassador to China.

    In his submission the lawyer representing Kahyana, Counsel Luke Kanyonyi of Masereka C and Co advocates presented two surities, Hon. Majidu Ayubu and Mr. Hassani Baluku, both residents of River Mpondwe cell in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council.

    In the case the Uganda Vs Mr. Jolly Kahyana, Counsel Kanyonyi told our reporter after court that they had tried their bset to have their client bailed out but in vain till July 2nd when he appears for the bail application ruling. Counsel Kanyonyi speaking…………

    Counsel Representing Dr. Chrispus Kiyonga Counsel Mishele Geoffrey from Bagyenda and Co. advocates told court that since the accused person jumped a police bond over a case of public interest that has also created politucal camps, honoring his bail appliocation was complicating the matter.

    One of the sureties’ for Kahyana Jolly, Mr. Ayubu Majidu called for calmness among FDC people, saying all will be done to resolve the issues raised for his safety. END.
