    Mityana Catholic priest buried after being stabbed to death.

    The Catholic Church Priest who was killed by an alleged intruder in Gomba District was last evening laid to rest in Mityana, with a call to authorities to bring to book those culpable in the heinous crime.

    Rev. Fr Josephat Kasambula, 68, was allegedly stabbed to death on Wednesday(18th.August.2021) evening, by a man he had gone to evict from his land at Kikunyu Village, in Kyegonza Sub County, Gomba District.

    The deceased, a priest of Lwamata Parish in Kiboga District was buried at the Church cemetery at Kiyinda-Mityana Diocese after a Requiem Mass led by Diocesan Bishop Joseph Anthony Zziwa assisted by a host of priests.

    Bishop Zziwa expressed sadness at the events that led to Rev Fr Kasambula’s death and asked the parents to nurture children with discipline reasoning that if the intruder had discipline, the tragedy would not have happened. Bishop Zziwa speaking …..

    Katonga Region Police Spokesperson Lydia Tumushabe said that charges of murder will be preferred against the 35-year-old suspect, Vincent Katumba who is currently detained at Kanoni Police Station. END.
