A one week training for lower secondary teachers on the new curriculum has opened at Bwera Primary Teachers` college and St. Theresa girls` secondary school with a call for regular assessment of learners, largely which will guide the learning process in schools.
The training at St. Theresa girls` secondary school and Bwera teachers` college premises respectively, covers senior one and senior two secondary teachers from the district of Kasese, Bundibugyo, Ntoroko and Kasese Municipality.
In his address while opening the training session at Bwera primary teachers` college, the Kasese district education officer, Mr. George Mayinja insists that regular assessment of learners alongside periodic examinations, would give teachers a better approach on how to deal with individual learners` weaknesses for better academic performance.
