In Kasese district, the Member of Parliament representing Kasese Municipality, Hon. Ferigo Kambale has warned journalists against prioritizing money than their professional call, a move he says partly soils their individual image and profession.

Addressing journalists during their press day celebrations at Virina gardens hotel in Kasese Municipality this afternoon, Hon. Ferigo was concerned that whereas money is essential, too much for it may shield one from his duties professionally.

The Legislator who later asked journalists to indulge in other alterative income generating projects to improve their living conditions, calls for unity among the media practitioners but give little attention to some selfish politicians who only associate with the media during the political campaigns. Hon. Ferigo speaking……

Hon. Ferigo`s statements followed revelation by Mr. Geoffrey Kanyonyi, the President of Umbrella for Journalists in Kasese that media practitioners had begun investing part of their energies in promoting unity and plans for alternative income sources. Mr. Kanyonyi……

The Rwenzori East Regional police Spokesperson, SP Ismail Kawooasked journalists to position themselves professionally beyond the regular social media animals by promoting research and making good us of their local leaders while sourcing for news. ASP Kawoo speaking….

According to United Nations, the day should be used for reflections and remembrance for those journalists who lost their lives in their line of duty. END
