Kasese district senior probation and social welfare officer, Ms.Assimwe Zainabu have asked Government to build a remand home to stop the confinement of Juveniles referred to Fortportal remand home.
Ms Zainabu said much as imprisonment is intended to reform captives, children risk becoming criminals because they are imprisoned together with notorious criminals from different districts.
Speaking to Kasese guide radio before transferring five Juveniles to Fortportal remand home at Uhuru 50 gardens in Kasese town, Ms. Zainabu called for urgent intervention by government to have the remand home constructed in Kasese district since it has free government land to accommodate the remand home.Ms Zainabu speaking 1….
She said children against the law have not got development partners to foot their bills saying the district is funding their transport bills to different remand homes in Uganda.Ms.Zainabu speaking 2……
