The senior presidential advisor on National infrastructure and public works, Eng Dr.Badru Kigundu has proposed to government to make urgent aerial survey by plane to establish the source of Nyamwamba flooding in Kasese district.
Dr. Kigundu observed that boulders are descending down to Kasese town, saying soon Kasese Municipality may face serious disaster, should government fail to intervene and form an independent body to handle floods in the district.
He made the remarks today shortly after touring River Nyamwamba and visiting National water and sewerage cooperation primary treatment plant in Bulembia Division Kasese Municipality.
Dr.Kigunda, who doubles as the Chairperson Board National water and sewerage cooperation Uganda during his official three day visit to assess availability of projects in Busongora County south under the presidential pledge.
 He asked NWSC office to continue manual desalting along river Nyamwamba as he submits a report to the president about the challenges caused by the recent devastated floods. Dr.Kigundu speaking;…….

Jackson Mbaju Kathika said he had consulted the engineer about possible solutions to desilt and re-direct river Nyamwamba to its original channel that has destroyed several projects including washing away three billion Kyanzuki bridge among others. Earlier, the Manager National water and sewerage Cooperation, Eng. Braine Ampaire, said they have embarked on Bamboo tree planting along the water source as a mitigating measure towards flooding. ENDS .
