By Peter Masereka,
The Ordinary of the Diocese of Kasese, Rt. Rev. Francis Aquirinus Kibira Kambale has urged believers in Christ to be ambassadors of forgiveness, peace and reconciliation, as well as sharing the divine mercy of God if they were to receive the mercies of the Creator.
In his homily while presiding over Holy Mass on the Divine Mercy Sunday yesterday at St. Michael Kabuyiri Shrine of the Divine Mercy, five days after divine mercy conference and Novena, Bishop Kibira said as the risen Christ asked his Apostles to live with pure hearts full of love, forgiveness and extending divine mercy of God to others, so should be to Christians.
Bishop Kibira who described love for one another, reconciliation and forgiveness as key pillars of true Christianity, asked family members to distance themselves from acts of unending anger and violence which result into diversionary decisions but work jointly with others to cause peace among God’s people. It was after these touching words from the Prelate that Hon. Godfrey Kabyanga, the State Minister for National Guidance and the day’s Chief Guest announced later that he had forgiven Hon. Ferigo Kambale, the Kasese Municipal Legislator whom he blamed for being loose in his report to a committee of Parliament about the revamp plans of Kilembe Mines hospital.
Hon. Kabyanga who called for transparency, reconciliation and forgiveness among the Rwenzururu subjects, was referring to the alleged statements by Hon. Ferigo who openly told the Government Assurance and Implementation committee of Parliament that Hon. Kabyanga was leading in sabotaging the revamp of the hospital that the Ministry says was turning too costly to the tax payers yet it’s a private facility that was run initially under a partnership. Earlier in the same Homily, Bishop Kibira who asked parishes and parents to fully involve children in Church Liturgy so as to keep Christianity strong and not like in Europe and America where it is fading off, commended the Shrine Rector, Fr. Julius Tsangamubiri whom he tasked to lead children as the Diocese emanates the Uganda Martyrs day celebrations in 2026. Bishop Kibira speaking 2 …..
The chairperson organizing committee for the conference, Mr. John Mugerwa thanked God for over two thousand Christians at the conference he said was fruitful to God’s people. END
