Apple farmers in Kasese District have asked the central government through the National Agriculture Advisory Services secretariat to look into plans of adding value to their crop so as to increase its demand for improved incomes.

Speaking to our reporter during a tour of the NAADs secretariat staff and Kasese Apple Growers organization, the farmers including Mrs. Rosemary Mbambu Ngasirya and Mr. Moses Kiyedeka Masereka among others who called for plans against pests and diseases, thieves and poor market returns underscored the need for the government to establish an apple processing factory but also a pesticide store in Kasese to add value to apples.
