Seven candidates in four electoral areas in Kasese district have been nominated in preparations for Bye-elections, Kasese guide radio has learnt.
The Kasese district registrar, Mr. Ismail Atwijukire Takih confirmed that two candidates for Nyabirongo parish in Kisinga subcounty and two from Bulambira Ward in Rugendabara-Kikongo town council, as well as one male youth for Bugoye subcounty among others, had been nominated.
Mr. Ismail who said the nominees included four from NRM and three from FDC respectively, announced that Mr. Clovis Kayiri, an intending Male youth councilor for Bugoye subcounty, had been disqualified over age challenges. Mr. Ismail speaking………
A disappointed Mr. Clovis Kayiri, the FDC Flag bearer could not believe that just three months above the required age could force him out of the polls yet he is still an eligible youth voter the fact that his name reads clearly in the voters` register. Mr. Kayiri speaking……
