    By Editorial,

Security authorities in Kisoro District have said that the 18-year-old Rwandan national who was shot dead on Thursday, was smuggling minerals.

Mr. Pasikari Dushimimana, was killed while at the Ugandan-Rwanda porous border of Ghetto in Mupaka village, Chahafi town council, about 300 meters on Ugandan soil.

Hajji Shafique Ssekandi, the Kisoro Resident District Commissioner says that investigations indicate that Dushimimana together with a group of unidentified people were offloading minerals from an ISUZU tipper truck registration number UAV 063F while on the Ugandan side heading to Rwanda.

According to Ssekandi, in the process, a group of armed people appeared and chased them away, forcing Dushimimana’s group to start pelting stones at the yet to be identified armed group with intentions of saving the vehicle that was  transporting minerals before the deceased was shot. Mr. Sekandi speaking……

May the soul of the deceased rest in peace. END
