About One point one billion shillings has been estimated for the 2022/2023 annual budget for Kasese Municipal Central division, prioritizing the health and education sectors.
In a brief interview with our reporter shortly after council siting yesterday, Hon. Jonard Makoma, the secretary for finance, planning and administration said the reduction of the budget down from 1.2 billion last financial year was forced by the effects of the two years covid-19 pandemic.
He however said for the budget to focus much on health, infrastructural development and education among others, was basically to put right the sectors that have had many challenges due to the 2 years` lockdown.

Mr. Safari Martin, the local council three chairperson asks the business community to borrow and restore their businesses that were badly affected during the two years` lockdown.
He said Rehabilitation of schools, Roads and health facilities has been prioritized by the budget.
Other issues considered by the budget estimates are among others, Beautification of Kasese town and vigorous collection of garbage for a clean and smart Kasese Municipality. END.
