The commissioner for patriotism in the office of the President, Brigade Gen. Patrick Mwesigye has called for a total shakeup of some leaders in Kasese who have turned themselves into office warmers than being in the field for service of the people.

Addressing the press shortly after the one day training of all leaders from Kasese district, Gen. Mwesigye called for mindset change about work and social economic transformation that requires leaders to be exemplary, less of bosses but servants.

At the same training at the Kasese Multipurpose hall yesterday, the General asked local leaders against lamentation but rather monitor government programs and guide the local community about programs that could improve their incomes. Brigade Gen. Mwesigye speaking….

The Kasese Deputy RDC, Mr. Joshua Masereka described the Community Development Officers as field officers who should not always role in office chairs but rather guide the community about programs that could positively change their living conditions.

    Mr. Joshua speaking…

Mr. Erifazi Muhindi, the Kasese district local council five chairperson who hailed the office of the president for organizing what he called a timely training, asked local leaders to be accountable to their electorates by monitoring and evaluating the technical staff for better service delivery. Mr. Muhindi speaking…

All local leaders in the 44 local administrative units in Kasese district attended the training. END.
