A newly born baby girl, abandoned by her unknown mother, was rescued from a sugar cane plantation in Namabasa Ward, Northern City Division, Mbale City, on Sunday.
Ms Sarah Namono discovered the baby while returning home from church, alerted by an elderly woman who heard the baby’s cries from the sugar cane plantation from where is was found in a deep manhole, concealed under dry weeds but covered with maggots, particularly in her private parts and lower body.
