Patients operated on over Fistula during the ongoing free medical camp at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital in the diocese of Kasese have up to six months abstinence from sex, Rev. Sr. Maria Gorret Kabakali, the National Coordinator Catholic Religious Sisters’ Health Care Initiative-Uganda has advised.
Speaking to our reporter during the second day of free medical camp yesterday, Rev. Sr. Maria Gorret asked men whose wives have been operated on over fistula to abstain from sex to allow total healing of the wounds. Rev. Sr. Maria Goreti speaking………
A 54 year old woman, Ms Joyce Livonote, a resident of Ibuga village in Kitswamba subcounty in Kasese district described the free medical camp as her dream come true against a physical complication she had lived with for three decades. Ms. Joyce speaking………
To Ms Agnes Boonabaana, another patient and a resident of Mugusu town council in Kabarole district, more community mobilization should be invested in to target some mothers who are stigmatized and have lost hope to turn up for similar medical camps. The Free Gynecological camp that has attracted more than six hundred patients at Mt. St. Mary’s hospital Diocese of Kasese, is funded by Hilton Foundation –USA. END.
