Hon. Godfrey Kabbyanga, the State Minister for National Guidance has called for tax education sessions to the community members for compliance by tax payers in Uganda.

Addressing a community dialogue mainly the cross border business stake holders at Mpondwe one stop border post in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council in Kasese District yesterday, Hon. Kabyanga who called for respect for traders, said with continued sensitization of the community about taxes and approaches of payments, complaints by the business community would be minimized.
Hon. Kabyanga who called for simplicity and fairness in tax payments, described as diversionary and contradicting for Uganda Revenue Authority law enforcement officers to push for tax collection before fully sensitizing the tax payers about the reasons and how to pay taxes. Mr. Sylvester Kiwanuka, the manager in charge of customs external operations at Uganda Revenue Authority headquarters in Kampala said some challenges in the taxation process are as a result of some traders who do not want to comply to guidelines aimed at protecting local producers within the East African community.
