The Kampala Metropolitan North regional Police Commander, Gerald Twishime, has called upon Police officers who have not been promoted to stop speaking negatively about their colleagues who were last week elevated in ranks.
President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni last week promoted 773 police officers after six years without carrying out promotions.
But Twishime said since the promotions, some Police officers in his region are speaking negatively about their colleagues.
He advised the unhappy Police officers who were not promoted to be patient before they are also promoted.
Citing his own example of 2012 when his colleagues were promoted to Superintendent of Police except him and two others, Twishime said all those who have not been promoted need to be patient and continue being committed to their duties.
Twishime said when he got angry for not being promoted in 2021, he sought counsel from his mother who in turn encouraged him to remain focused on work. Twishime on promotions….
The Inspector General of Police, Martin Ochola, on Wednesday directed RPCs to quickly organize promotion ceremonies of Police officers who were promoted by Museveni but could not attend the ceremony in Naguru. END.
