    Save the Children-International, creates opportunities for out of school children.

    Save the children –international has today launched a four year Hempel project that is aiming at increasing access to equitable and sustainable quality basic education for out of school children in hard to reach areas in districts of Ntoroko, Bundibugyo and Kasese in western Uganda.

    While officiating at the official launch of hempel project at boma grounds in Bundibugyo district, an official from the Ministry of education and sports under department of teachers instructed gesture training, Mr. Wanyama Wilber commended save the children for the  efforts they render to complement government of Uganda programs  for more than 36 years.

    Mr. Wanyama said that it’s a sacrifice that save the children can complement government efforts in providing quality education for the learners saying that there is no country that can develop without education. Mr. Wanyama on education…….

    The country Director save the children-international Brechtje Van Lith said that they want to strengthen the capacity of communities and government to increase investments in education for out of school children.

    Save the children under hempel project handed over ten(10) motorcycles to ten coordinating center tutors, Ten smart phone to CCTs that coordinated they activities and  three computers to district education officers of both Kasese,Ntoroko and Bundibugyo respectively.

    While handing them to CCTs, Mr. Wanyama urged them to put them into anticipated use to ensure quality education to provide knowledge to teachers. Mr. Wanyama on motorcycles…….

    The Kasese district Education officer Mr. George Mayinja warned Head teachers of the benefiting primary schools to do their work as supervisor, whoever will not follow what they intend to benefit from this project that can led the partners to quite then should punished.

    One of the CCTs from Kasese Mr. Yofesi Kule who did not hide his excitement after being given mountain motorcycles from hempel project said this will enable him climb to reach schools in the mountains. Mr. Yofesi speaking…….

    Meanwhile the Head teacher of Katwe Boarding primary school in Kasese district, Mr. Annest Baluku said that if save the children could construct staff quarter in schools it would help better teachers to do their work perfectly since most of them move long distance to school.

    Save the children has for over thirty six years been operating in the districts of Kasese, Bundibugyo and Ntoroko doing a lot not only in education but in many sectors of increasing service delivery to the communities. END
