Residents in Kasese district have been urged to disassociate COVID -19 pandemic to witchcraft.

Speaking to Kasese guide radio this afternoon in Verina gardens Kasese town, the former Deputy Chief administrative officer Kasese Mr. Wilson Mutungwanda said a section of community members especially those in rural areas have linked corona-Virus to witchcraft.

Mr. Mutungwanda noted that people’s negative attitude towards preventive measures against Corana Virus may lead to new infections; should stakeholders fail to sensitize the community.

Mr. Rabson Magoma, the former LC3 Chairperson Maliba Sub-County, used the same platform, condemning police brutality towards implementation of the presidential directive.

Magoma reported that over ten people are nursing wounds after being reportedly brutalized by law enforcement officers this week.

Earlier, the district councilor representing Kisinga town council, Hon. Patrick Muthanaba said on several occasion police has allegedly attacked boda-boda cyclists carrying food, accusing them of violating the law.
