The Uganda Police headquarters in Kampala will be temporarily closed, the force has announced.
Police spokesman, Fred Enanga who was addressing the media in Kampala today said the three-day closure will allow for COVID-19 disinfection and testing of personnel for the virus.
Mr. Enanga’s pronouncement comes on the backdrop of one senior Police officer testing positive for the virus.
He said the National headquarters and the National Command Centre will resume operations immediately after the disinfection and fumigation.
So far Uganda has recorded 2,263 cases of COVID-19 since the outbreak was first reported in March.
