    PM Nabanja directs further investigations on relief items for flood victims in Kasese.

    Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja has directed further investigations into the procurement of relief items for flood victims in Kasese district that she recently rejected.

    Nabbanja made the revelation to journalists at parliament yesterday(23rd.July.2021) shortly after attending the Bunyoro Parliamentary Caucus.

    The Premier on Tuesday rejected an assortment of relief items meant for flood victims in Kasese district due to poor quality.

    The items included 1,000 mosquito nets, 1000 floor mops presented as blankets among others.

    Now asked by journalists what her office has done in regard to the substandard items, Nabbanja said that on return from Kasese, she wrote to the Permanent Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister seeking a report on the contractors and the officer responsible for the items purchased and the budget.

    She says that her office gave the three investigative arms of government three days to report back. Rt.Hon.Nabanja one on Relief……

    Meanwhile, the Prime Minister said that some unidentified people had started threatening her through her relatives.

    She said that a lady recently approached her brother, a town clerk in Kakumiro in regard to the manner she is handling business.

    Nabbanja says that she has not taken this alleged visit lightly and that she is scheduled to report the matter to President Yoweri Museveni.

    The new Premier insists that all she seeks is quality service for the people, transparency and services commensurate to funds provided by government. End.
