Police in Rwenzori East region has arrested the leader for healing church in Hima town council in Kasese district, on allegations of starving 68 year old woman to death under disguise of fasting and prayer.
Police spokesperson for Rwenzori East region, ASP Ismael Kawoo confirmed the information and identified the suspect as, Wastema.
Speaking to Our reporter shortly after the burial in Katoke one village in Bugoye sub-county, Mr. Titus Balirebyo one of the deceased children to late Yoneki Masika 68, said the family only received reports of death of their mother whose postmortem report indicates she died due to starvation.
Mr.Balirebyo said their deceased mother and other followers to the arrested leader for healing church had reportedly stayed a life of digging from morning to evening having one single meal with belief of standing in the gap for their family and church members to receive abundant blessings from God.Mr. Balirebyo on death…..
An in-law to the deceased, Ms. Aidah Biira told our reporter in Katooke that the deceased left fifteen year ago in possession with goats, bed sheets in addition to surrendering all her harvested crops to the leader of healing church in return for a pay from God.Ms. Aidah on starvation…
Ms. Aidah said the deceased who lived a lifestyle of taking on many days of prayer and fasting programs shall be missed by her family.
