About three Hundred thirty refugees from the neighboring DR Congo have reportedly entered Uganda through Kitholhu Sub County over security related challenges, the Kasese Deputy RDC in charge of Bukonzo County, Lt. Maate Magwara has confirmed.
Lt. Magwara who hailed the local community for their friendly welcome to the displaced people, told Kasese guide radio last evening that the said Refugees, most of them women and children are being hosted at Kasinga COU and Kiraro Roman Catholic Church in Kitholhu subcounty in Kasese district. The Kitholhu subcounty local council three Chairperson, Mr. Emmanuel Kule Maliba who hailed the office of the RDC for the quick response, said the situation was forced by the reported killings and abductions in some parts of the Eastern DR Congo by armed bandits perceived to be ruminants of the Allied Democratic Forces.
