    Over 100 goats have died shortly after vaccination in Kasese District

    About one hundred Goats have died from Nyakatonzi Sub County in Kasese district shortly after vaccination, Kasese guide radio has learnt.

    Speaking to Ms Jovia Nsongyi and others whose goats claimed died after the sub-county Veterinary officer Mr. Edward Mwebanze vaccinated at the cost of two thousand shillings per goat testified the animals died instantly over unclear circumstances.

    The senior Veterinary officer Kasese district  Dr.Kibaya Yusuf told Kasese guide radio shortly after assessing the situation at Nyakatonzi sub-county, that the goats  had been affected by the virus known as PPR  or goat pleg. Dr,Kibaya on goats……

    Hon. Ham Natuhwera, the district Secretary for production, Marketing and natural resources who doubles as the councilor for Nyakatonzi sub-county, said they had not arranged vaccination of goats later saying the sub-county Veterinary officer should be hold accountable for the losses.

    The Chairperson LC 3 Nyakatonzi sub coiunty Mr. Stephen Mbera said action will be reached after the district veterinary officer’s report.

    He cautioned the public against feasting on the goats, he thinks may be harmful to health. END.
