President Museveni has rallied members of the 11th parliament to support government’s parish development model.

Addressing the NRM caucus meeting at Kololo ceremonial grounds yesterday(20th.August.2021), the president who is also the NRM national chairman said this is a model that will help government quickly transform society.

He says initial development programs did not succeed because decisions were made by government leaders on behalf of the stakeholders but this did not give the desired results hence the shift.

He demanded that 100 million shillings are allocated for each of the 10,694 parishes across the country per year so that the desired output is achieved. Mr. Museveni on parish model….

If implemented, this directive by the President would see the budget for the Parish Model increase in the coming financial year 2022/2023 to over one trillion.

Mr. Museveni urges that through this arrangement social economic transformation will be fast racked across the country.

    Mr.Museveni two on funds…….

Meanwhile, Museveni said that part of the money sent to the parishes will be specifically ring-fenced for special groups like women and youth among others. END.
