    Lt. Joe Walunsimbi directs release of 4 suspects on police bond in Hima.

    Kasese Resident District Commissioner, Lt. Joe Walunsimbi has directed Hima Division police to release four suspects on police bond that were allegedly involved in land clashes between cattle keepers and Cultivators in Kabukero village, Karusandara Sub-County Kasese district.

    Addressing the press at his offices in Kasese this afternoon, the RDC, who said mediation program has begun between the two groups, also instructed security operatives to free five people receiving treatment at Kavera barracks and one at Kilembe mines hospital that  were reportedly injured in land attacks yesterday.

    Lt. Walunsimbi who recently mediated the two parties before covid-19 pandemic outbreak, wondered how the clashes sparked off after officially writing letters to the two chairpersons requesting them that the status-co should remain until the country is declared corona-virus free.

    The Kasese district Chairperson Mr. Sibendire Geoffrey Bigogo said the district executive committee has asked the elders forum led by Mzee Bamusede Bwambale and Inter-religious council in Kasese district to assist the RDC in mediating pastoralists and Cultivators for a lasting solution.
