Over twenty people are said to have been killed by a yet to be identified armed Gang in Kasese district.
Whereas Brigadier Felix Kulaigye, the UPDF Spokesperson told Kasese Guide Radio this morning that he was not aware yet about the suspected rebel attack, Mr. Selevest Mapoze, the Local council three Chairperson for Mpondwe-Lhubiriha town council said a school in his area had been overrun by armed operators suspected to be from ADF terrorists group.
Mr. Mapoze said the attack on Mpondwe Secondary school Popularly known as Peter Hunt school had left twenty two people, most of them learners killed, six rushed at Bwera hospital in critical condition and a yet to be identified number reportedly abducted.
He said they were closely in touch with the school management about the surviving number of people despite the reports that three had been identified to be in good health, Mr. Mapoze speaking2……
Mr. Clarence Mumbahya, the senior administrator at Bwera General Hospital confirmed that two of the six critically injured Victims of the attack, had died shortly after being delivered to health facility.
He said they were working around the clock to get enough blood to save the lives of the remaining patients already being worked on in the theatre. Mr. Clarence speaking………
Earlier, last night, Hon. Godfrey Katusabe Atkins, the Bukonzo West Member of Parliament had said he was in touch with security leadership about the possibilities of saving the suspected abducted learners from the institution of learning.
Mr. Edwin Mumbere, local resident of Kibwe cell in Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council told this radio that he suspects the gang could have as well killed and abducted some members of the community.
The Mpondwe Lhubiriha town council female Councilor Representing Kyambogho ward said it looked a normal evening until 11 pm when gunshots were heard before confirmation of fatalities and abductions at nearby school in the area. Hon. Josephine speaking……
