Eight people are reported to have lost their lives today in Kasese district, following disaster and torrential rains, the district disaster focal person, Mr. Joseph Isingoma has revealed.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio, Mr. Isingoma said the death toll has increased from four to eight, but the search is still ongoing in Kyondo sub-county, where a house is alleged to have collapsed to a family and unknown number people trapped inside the rubble.

Mr. Zunguka Kato, a community volunteer in Kirembe cell also reported destruction of houses and crops in the area, calling for humanitarian support from central Government and partners in development.

Mr. Asanairi Mugusu, the chairperson local council three for Muhokya sub-county, said over ten houses are reported to have been destroyed after landslides hit the area .Mr. Mugusu speaking….

Two internally displaced camps have been temporarily established in Kyalhumba sub county one at Kanyatsi COU and another at Kiduku Catholic Church, according to the NRM chairperson of Kiduku village in Kyalumba sub county, Mr. Joseph Ndaleghana.
