Kasese Chief Magistrates Court has remanded a 30-year-old man, Mr. Kate James to Mubuku prison until 08th May 2024, on allegations of defilement.
Court presided over by the Chief magistrate, Her Worship, Betty Ajok heard that in June, 2023 while at Kyababinga trading canter in Kasese Municipality, the suspect reportedly defiled a 16-Year-old minor.
Upon taking plea of not guilty the prosecution brought two witnesses who testified before court that the suspect reportedly impregnated the Minor while in her primary seven vacation and she is now breastfeeding a one month old baby.

Same court also sentenced Joab Masereka for three suspended years after taking plea of guilty for defiling a 16 year old minor now with a three months old baby.
Counsel Kanyonyi Luke from Kanyonyi and co. advocates said the suspect was given three suspended years sentence so that he can keep looking after his three month old baby.
