The Parliamentary Committee on Agriculture yesterday(30th.April.2024) visited Kasese district to assess a Multi-Billion testing and analyzing coffee laboratory under construction at Kasese District Headquarters.
The Laboratory once completed will promote coffee quality at both National and International market.
The District leadership donated five acres of land through Uganda Coffee Development Authority-UCDA to have the Multi-Billion laboratory constructed at a cost of Five billion shillings.
While addressing the Parliamentary committee at the district headquarters, Ms. Doreen Rose Rweihangwe, the Director Quality and regulatory services-UCDA said Ugandan coffee is rated third best in the world. Ms Doreen speaking….
Hon. Janet Okwirimoyi, the Woman Member of Parliament for Abim district, who is the Parliamentary committee chair, commended Kasese district leadership for donating land to house the laboratory, noting that land challenges in other districts has delayed agricultural interventions.
