The Kasese district has announced an outbreak of Viral Conjunctivitis, calling for timely reports that may back plans to neutralize the spread disease.
Mr. Stephen Bagonza, the acting Kasese District Health Officer said over 20 students at Nyabugando Baptist Secondary school and the neighboring areas in Mpondwe-Lhubiriha Town council and two residents of Nyamwamba division in Kasese municipality had registered signs and symptoms of the disease as per the Health Surveillance report.
Mr. Bagonza who said Patients with viral conjunctivitis present onset foreign body sensation including; itching, light sensitivity, burning, and watery discharge, told our reporter at his office at the district headquarters this morning that the locals need to wash and avoid shaking hands, and touching eyes to minimize the spread of the disease he said is painful.
