Fr. David Kitsa, the Parish Priest for Kitabu in the Diocese of Kasese has partly blamed the deteriorating morals among the local community members to what he called a wide gap between the Church and the local political leadership.
In his Homily while presiding over Holy Mass that later saw St. Michael Kalhamia Catholic Church elevated to a sub-parish in Kitabu on Sunday, Fr. Kitsa wondered why the local leaders were not willing to exercise their powers fully and collaborate with the Church against behavior that not only a security threat but put the morals of a community to tests.
Rev.Fr. Kitsa; Omwami as commonly known by his close friends, asked Christians who cheered the action of a Witch doctor against thieves to repent; before wondering why local leaders cannot involve the Church, police and the UPDF against the devil than allowing devilish acts in their areas. Mr. Augustine Kule Kisolhu, the Chairperson Laity Council for Kitabu Parish later presented the new sub-parish caretaker council headed by Mr. Christopher Muhindo for approval, before asking Christians and well-wishers to be united, and also prepare resources for this year’s priestly ordination. Mr. Kisolhu speaking…..
Kalhamia sub-parish that has been curved from Kahokya sub-parish, will include; Kalhamya, Bunyandiko and St. Michael Kidungu local Churches. END
