Former Kenyan president Uhuru Kenyatta has asked the current leadership of the country to embrace dialogue to end the ongoing countrywide protests.
In a press statement issued last evening, Mr. Kenyatta says the current leaders were elected by people whom they have no choice but to listen to.
Earlier, Azimio leader Raila Odinga has strongly criticized the Kenyan government for what he calls mishandling of the ongoing countrywide protests, calling for suspension of the controversial Finance Bill, 2024.
After a day of protest, turmoil and bloodshed, Kenyan President William Rutosaid what would have been “legitimate” protests against his policies had been “hijacked by a group of organized criminals,” he warned his government would use all means at its disposal to prevent a repeat of the violence – “at whatever cost”.
