About eight families risk eviction in Kanyangeya cell in Kasese Municipality over what has been perceived to be illegal occupancy to land, Kasese guide radio has learnt.

Mr. Johnson Kabagambe, the Vice Chairperson for Kanyangeya Ward in Kasese Municipality said the affected families are said to have illegally occupied land belonging to the late Abasi Kibaba.

Mr. Kabagambe who said the concerned parties had been summoned for a meeting next week, indicated that he had asked the area local council one executive to interest itself to the matter he said doesn’t necessarily have to cause un called for friction. Mr. Kabagambe speaking……..

Mr. Farouk Kibaba, a complainant said whereas the affected families had bought the said land illegally, the Kibaba family was ready to negotiate with the alleged trespassers for as long as they are ready to cooperate. Mr. Farouk speaking………

A woman from the affected families who declined to identify herself insisted they legally purchased the said land and that their financial vulnerability should be exploited to push them into the corner by what she called a rich and learned family. END.
