Security authorities in Bundibugyo district have assured residents of safety following today’s early morning attack on Malindi and Kakuka Police detaches by unknown assailants.
The Resident District Commissioner, Maj. John Mugabirwe said the situation has been contained and urged residents of Sindila Sub-County who had fled their homes to return.
He noted that additional reinforcements from the Mountain Division have joined local security teams to ensure peace and stability in the area.

He revealed that locals have identified one of the attackers, a lead he said will help security understand the origin of the group. The suspects first attacked Malindi detach before torching Kakuka detach after taking advantage of a temporary gap as forces responded to the first incident. END
