Lt. Col. Emmanuel Kafureka, the 222 Mountain Bridged Commander based in Hima in Kasese district has called for massive interventions against witchcraft whose promoters he blames for feeding unsuspicious local community members on false hopes that force them into subversive activities.
Speaking to Kasese Guide Radio at White House gardens in Kasese Municipality shortly after witnessing the handover of resettlement benefits to some former Rwenzururu fighters on Tuesday, Lt. Col Emmanuel called for close interventions by religious, cultural, civil society, political and community leaders for mind-set change among those he called war mongers who jeopardize plans for peaceful co-existence. He also encouraged parents and guardians to educate their children, most of whom are lured into lawlessness over high levels of illiteracy, poverty and failure to know God. END
