Voting in parts of Kasese District of Local council five and Councilors was delayed today morning due to low voter turnout, with several polling stations failing to open on schedule despite being fully set up by 7:00am.
Polling officers across the district had received voting materials on time and were ready to commence voting, as planned.

However, unlike the January 15 polling day when delays were largely attributed to late delivery of materials, today’s delays were caused by the absence of voters. Where voting begun at 9.00am at some stations.

In Muhokya town council, A-L, M-Z, Muhokya Primary school and Church of Uganda polling stations, turnout remained notably low by 10AM, only 30 people had cast their ballots, most of them agents representing candidates.
Mr.Exiavor Sezoba and Saveri Tushobomwe who had cast their ballot, said the numbers were unusually low compared to previous elections, despite efforts by candidates transporting voters. Mr. Saveri and Exiavor….

Ms. Beatrice Biira, a resident of Mubuku Town council and Ms. Madina Kanyunyuzi a residents of Kabukero in Karusandara sub-county, said lack of transport delayed the elections, appealing to those who may go through to prioritize, Health, Education and Agriculture among others.
