Voting has been delayed at several polling stations across Kasese district due to late delivery of electoral materials, Kasese Guide Radio can reliably report.
Electoral commission officials in Kasese on condition of anonymity told our reporter, the election materials from Kampala arrived at Kasese Multipurpose hall at 5.00am this morning, leading to late dispatch at 8.20 am to different polling stations.

According to Electoral Commission guidelines, voting was expected to start at 7:00 a.m. at each station.
In Kasese Municipality, voting had not started at some stations visited by our reporters at Rwenzori Square, K-M-A Kisanga B polling station, Railway, Kanyangeya, Katiri, Road barrier Primary school and Kihara polling stations by 8.30 am, despite a low turnout of voters.
A voter at Bulembia Division polling station Hon. Modesto Baluku Muneyi, said he planned to vote at 7:00 a.m. and then go to work but found only police constables present with no polling setup. Hon. Muneyi speaks..
Ms. Robinah Kabugho, a Voter at Kemihoko Roadside polling station, who reached at the station at 7.00am and Margret Kaghunda 75 years-old, a voter at Hima town council headquarters polling station and Kom Bwambale, described the delays by EC materials as a stumbling book to their constitutional rights.Ms. Robinah, Margret and others….
By 8:00a.m. none of the observed stations had commenced voting. EC rules require at least 10 witnesses to observe and approve the opening of the sealed ballot boxes. Without this quorum, officers could not proceed. Our reporters, Joel Kaguta, Patrick Kyamanduma, Enos Masereka and Francis Muhindo, are already at the District tally centre for the official declaration of results, stay tuned. End
